We are privileged to have Steph Locke speaking in Glasgow for our joint meet up with the Glasgow Azure User Group and Scotland Data Science & Technology Meetup. Steph will be doing two sessions on data science and R. The first session will be an Introduction to R, then diving deeper with Modern R for data science.
If you have heard of R, or wondered why SQL server now supports it, or you just want to find out a bit more about how it can help you tame your data, then come along.
The two sessions will be
1) Introduction to R
Learn how R can be useful to analysts, DBAs, and developers. Looking at awesome graphics, building dashboards with ease, data manipulation functionality that’ll kick SQL’s butt, and code for working with APIs and websites, this 45 minute overview will show you why you should spend time learning R.
2) Modern R for data science
R’s pace of change has been increasing and even the `caret` package is being supplanted by newer, easier to use packages. In this session, I’ll walk you through what the latest workflows for data science can look like from getting data to deploying models.
